Day Trading stocks and have a day trading chat room is just a natural expression for me. I've been investing in the stock market for over 20 years. I recall when I first started in stocks paying huge commissions
and keeping up on the stock market via the Wall Street Journal. In hindsight, much of the 90's was the golden age for the stock market, stocks, wall street, and investing in general. One of my first stock market
success was a doubling of the stock Corrections Corp, which was actually Wackenhut Corrections at the time. Investing back then was buy and hold whether you liked that style or not. I think my stock trading
commissions were $40-$50 per trade. As soon as the internet became common place, I saw it as an avenue to day trade stocks. Day trading was just one of those things where I knew it's what I wanted to do for
a living. This is not to say I was especially good at day trading from the start, because I was not good at day trading at first. As with most stocks day traders, I struggled at first. Trading equities is not rocket
science, but I as do most new stock day traders, made it look that way. I think what new stock day traders have to accept is that there are certain trading rules that are not optional, assuming you want to be
successful with your stocks day trading program. Basically, there are two ways you can trade the stock market, your way, or the proven way. When you want success in day trading stocks badly enough that
you will do what is proven to work rather than what you personally want to work, you will find success. Rather than inventing rules to stocks day trading success, you need to find out what the established
rules are and follow them faithfully. Make trading less about yourself and instead make your day trading about following proven systems. Trading stocks could be described as very simple, yet very
complicated. It's complicated by human nature and the way we tend to be wired naturally. We want to call our own shots. Want to be geniuses predicting events (stocks going up usually) before they actually
take place and we don't want to admit when we are wrong so we hold onto a stock while it's stock price is declining. It makes no mathematical sense to watch a stock trend against you. You must cut your stock
losses and love your losers. Success will be a result of your losers, not your winners. Even the most gambling, undisciplined, inexperienced trader can produce winners, but they'll lose just as much or more if
they do not handle their stock losses prudently. If you are a disciplined trader, you will suffer losses, but they will be controlled with stops and discipline. If you are finding yourself holding stocks that are
down more than 10%, I'm guessing you are not a successful trader. If you have a successful format that includes frequently letting stocks decline 10% or more, please e-mail me and let me know the details of
your stock day trading success. Protecting your downside when day trading is in a nut shell the secret to day trading success. If you are new to day trading, I would encourage you to purchase some good day
trading books, those with good reviews. You hear many different approaches to day trading systems, but there are some day trading rules that all successful traders utilize, such as keeping losses small. Warren
Buffett once said the first rule to investing success is to not lose money. Second rule, he said was, do not forget the first rule. While Warren was not referring to day trading, the rule applies very well. The rule is
modified to don't lose a lot on your losses. Warren is a long term investor where holding periods for stocks is anywhere from several years to forever. With holding periods of that length and Warren's expertise
at finding value stocks, he literally doesn't lose money often. Active stock day traders will lose on trades. If you enter hundreds of trades a year, you will have dozens if not hundreds of losers. The key will be,
the size of your average loss. I like to keep my average loss low, but not so low that I'm constantly getting knocked out of stock trades. Generally I like to keep my average around 2-3% on losses. Average day
trade gains are twice, three or four times the losers average. When keeping stops in the 2% range, you will should find yourself more careful about stock trade entries. Using stock charts carefully along with
company fundamentals and news is the best format for day trading success. Improve stock entries, limit losses when your entries fail, and you are trading as the pros trade. You should watch successful traders
such as myself in order to get a feel for how these rules come into play in actual practice. By definition, day trading is entering and exiting a stock position in the same trading day. Often times my trades are not
technically day trades, they are actually swing trades. In general, I'm an active trader that has holding periods most often of one day to several days, and I use the term day trading because on most days, there is
a trade. I hope to make new friends with the day trading website and show. Hope you enjoy the stock market show and I look forward to enjoying success in day trading stocks,
